Any good weapons against the french?

I'm looking for a good weapon vs. the french defense

OnTheRunFromCubanPolice

Heard Kings Indian Attack is reasonable against it.

I just love Nc3 personally.

3.Nc3 is strongest. Having played the French Defense as Black for over 27 years and about 50 to 100 games against the French as White over the board, the following tend to be the most problematic for Black:

Against the Winawer main line, 7.h4! Just make sure you know what to do against 5...Ba5 or 6...Qa5.

Against 3...Nf6, the Steinitz (4.e5).

what is the winawer main line ive never seen it

SamuelAjedrez95
  • Winawer, Poisoned Pawn
  • Steinitz

What I have been playing is a king's indian attack and making it a structure like a grand prix attack in the sicilian

swarminglocusts

d4 or c4 :-)

don’t worry bro we all know you’re Anish Giri undercover

I recommend the Nc3 French, but if you don’t wanna study so much theory, the Tarrasch is great as well.

I like either king’s indian attack or the monte carlo variation. Tarrasch and two knights attack are also good

The two knights is weak. It is far better against the Caro than the French.

Nc3 prolly. Tarrasch is fine too ig. Advance is strong and exchange is alright if you insist

Still works pretty well tho. Many people fall into it

When your basis is people "falling into it" or "falling for it", it is a terrible opening. Always assume your opponents play the right moves, burt make sure you understand what to do when they don't play the right moves.

I prefer the wing gambit idea
Sacrifice your b and sometimes your a pawn for a strong pawn structure.
Something that looks like this

Please change the wording of this post. It sounds like you are going on a war against France.
