I had no success with the 7. h4 line of Austrian vs Pirc (in times long past). As best I recall it is right at the start of Botterill & Keene's book so my opponents always seemed to be very well prepared against it.

this is an interesting sideline, not played by Hikaru but still interesting.
Thanks! That is interesting-I'll try it! Vs. Pirc I've experimented with 4. Be2 then either 5. Be3 with lots of transpositions possible (sometimes f4, g4 , f5 then Qd2 can even happen if black delays action) or 5. Bg5 to inhibit e5.
