OZmatic love the post really think it's an interesting discussion as well but I like where it took your thoughts out there into a wider world. When it comes to AI we have to remember it doesn't have any purpose except for what we give it it doesn't have any needs so don't ever want anyting it's only going to do would we compel it to do. Like finding the best moves for chess when it comes to playing chess I think we have to remember that we're not competing against the engine we're competing against other humans. Now I personally played a few games where my intuition told me that I could make a move that the computer would hate and my opponent subsequently took the bait making a bad move according to the computer of Their Own and ultimately allowing me to win the game a lot quicker than the computer would have I'll be it how much more risky way to get a win perhaps but let's not forget it's humans that we're playing against the engine is just a tool it is not a process and if it becomes your process well you might be able to do some damage with such atactic but you're never going to on a purist level understand the game. I especially think the computer gets convoluted if you're looking at a game towards the end with Brooks involved and not much else because there are so many moves that can be made at that stage the computer can process an Untold number of combinations at that point where is humans need to understand the concepts behind the end game play for the pieces that you have in any particular game cuz you could spend the rest of your life trying to memorize all of the possibilities of any middle to late game play and only memorize a fraction of possibilities the memorization will only get you so far that's why it's a great game it test you as a person it can make you a better thinker a better more creative problem solver as well as a more patient person the benefits are harder to calculate is in the possible moves in the game. That's what humans get from this game. I mean when the power goes out and all you have is an old checkerboard to play on what would you rather have in your bag of tools then a tiny percentage of the moves you've memorized or The Core Concepts of each piece in each stage of the game? I apologize for my verbosity thank you for humoring me. Nice question whoever threw that out there to begin with who knew?
Are BOOK MOVES considered better than BEST MOVES?

Book moves are better because of their previous convenience and you can never totally 100% trust a computer programmed and analyzed list.

Like in the example in my last comment, the first 4 moves were all book moves previously used in many chess games.
Wouldn't a move that the player thinks is better be the better move? A computer could be seeing a checkmate in 98 but no human is actually going to know that when making the move. The engine could think that x is the best move but it could only work as long as the human makes all the other right moves on top of that.
