Beating The Dutch

Can anyone offer advice for beating the Dutch? I am a d4 player and have dabbled in the g3 abd Bg2 system, but I always seem to fall to a massive kigside attack.

If anyone can elaborate on the line that I am incorporating in this message, I would appreciate it, as this seems to fit my style (of course Black's responses may vary) The I idea I have is to castle queenside to launch my kingside if the position calls for it). Also, what are the dangers/pitfalls to watch out for in this line. Does anyone know of any anotated games that fit this scheme?

Other Anti-dutch ideas are Welcome!

 Thanks!

Join my tournament please, the Dutch defense.  I have room for three more people at the moment, and we can talk about ideas with the Dutch.

If you want an aggressive line (you will have to do the research), try this...

d4 f5 g4 fxg Bf4.  Never tried it, might be a cool system to experiment with in the tourney.

play the staunton gambit 2. e4! or 2. Bg5!  both great responses that lead to fun games, one can give white a killer kingside attack, the other ties up black on the kingside.

2. Bg5 doesn't bother Black too bad, you can play 2...g6, ...Bg7, etc. or you can play aggressive with ...h6, ...g5, ...Bg7 and ...Nf6 with an already advanced pawn center.  Just don't fall for the silly checkmate trap with ...f4!

Bird Brain: I am unable to locate it under "tournaments" please send me an invitation of possible or the link. That sounds like fun!

If black is prepared.then white may get in terouble in staunton gambit and black has at least equal position against Bg5

when someone plays the dutch. e4 is a stongmove....... (usually) but i can also employ the dutch when the reti opening is played, because theirs noway to play symetrical, if the sicilian is played, than white has symetrical counterplay. i like the dutch its handy to know and dosent take muchtime to fully understand ... recommended for strong endgame players.

As an occasional Dutch player myself, I find 2,Nc3 troublesome.

play d7-d5 on your second move.

yes, it also helps to have a backup plan for e4,,because with the dutch its easy to control the center, e4, annoys the objective.... if black is already on e6 when e4s played, than black needs to look carefully for the intermezzoed retort!! the dutch requires careful observation, failure to observe= loss.
