how do you attack the queen there? the light square bishop can't and neither knights really can either. computer's best move after the queen captures is to play c5 and put the knight on c6 and there's not really any tactics on the queen

And neither does the black pawn in c4!

But when the queen takes the pawn on c4, the material is equal but white has a misplaced queen

DasBurner

also for the Benko Gambit discussion, combined with the open lines and a kingside Fianchetto for black the pawn is compensated for with large amounts of pressure on white's queenside

You can't attack it immediately

DasBurner

if you really need to move your queen you can just put it on c2 and it doesn't block development on the other queenside pieces

isjatt

You wasted way too much time by moving the queen around too much

And black has wasted moves trying to give up the center

Because he's higher rated so it won't be fair ofc

DasBurner

move order is probably messed up but you can see the plans for black in this position

trade queens and white will be safe

DasBurner

why would black have any interest in a queen trade if he's playing a gambit?

Lord_Ultron

black tries to trade queen's in benko
