Beginner Opening

Hi,

I float in between 1200 and 1300, and I've read that 1) one shouldn't spend too much time on openings until around 1600 or so, and 2) that for beginners, playing with an open pawn structure is a good idea.

Anyways, lately I've been playing with this opening and it seems to work at my level, and I'm wondering if anybody thinks this is a bad idea or a bad opening.  I'm also interested in whether or not this is a good oening for more advanced players.  I assume its not, but I'm unsure.

I know this is just the very beginning, but any comments on this approach would be helpful.

Thanks,
Brian

It's been played at World Championship level.

Oh, thank you.  I didn't realize that this was a book opening.  Do you think that this is a good way for a realtively low ranked player to play?

Yeah, I do, and more importantly a lot of strong players and teachers do.
