Best books on playing the open Sicilian?

Looking round online there are many books on black’s ways to play different variations of the Sicilian, yet very few on playing all the variations from the white perspective. Are there any recommendations that I can read to help battle the open Sicilian ?

There are more books for black because of greater demand. black is the one who loses quickly so black players buy another book searching for the answer!  For white I think the starting point is an old  book of Levy, Sacrifices in the Sicilian.  Long games tend to favor black and short ones white so you need to attack. Knowing the standard motifs is essential and this book is where most of us learned them.   After this book there are a few books with a repetoire approach to white, usually by suggesting playing the English attack vs everything. (This is not a bad approach by the way.)  And have fun!  -Bill

Some very good books published on the Sicilian from White's point of view are Negi's multi-volume Grandmaster Repertoire series titled 1. e4 vs. The Sicilian and also GM John Shaw's Playing e4 Sicilian Main Lines. These books were published 3-5 years ago but much of the analysis is still good.

A book on the Sicilian is obsolete while being printed.
Use a data base with grandmaster games and study those games.
