Contrary to popular belief, there are numerous tactics in the Berlin or Petroff, and yes, you still need to know positional concepts in the Danish Gambit or Morra Gambit.
Even within the games you play in a single opening, you will have wild, tactical games and you will have dull, grind it out type games. As an advocate of the French Defense, I have had numerous wild games and numerous slow grinders. Same happens in any other opening.
