d5 almost means capitulation.
Best drawing weapon against 1. d4?

i do need a "move by move"!
Eveyrman Chess has "Move by Move" opening courses in paper and electronic form, which of course are not aimed at advanced players, and naturally they stop way before move 30.
You said that you want to play the King's Indian. Well, you can get the five volume set by Kotronias in Quality Chess, and I can assure you that you will either abandon the King's Indian, or chess alltogether: You cannot learn or memorize even a tiny fraction of what is presented there (and it is not a complete KID work, but rather a Black repertoire).
I assure you, I read Vol. 1-5 excerpts of KID, & it makes me like chess even more!

d4 nf6 c4 c6 ... b5 is the Slav-Indian Defense.
Against 1.d4, I mostly play Nf6 (the King's Indian).
