Best Moves For Black Against 'e4'
People need to stop using AI and get back thinking for themselves.
Indeed
What do you guyz think about my opinions
YOUR opinions?
My Opinion is most probably d5 or e5
The Scandinavian is crap! 1...e5, 1...e6, 1...c5, 1...c6 are Black's legit options.
Why do you say that..? You know it isn't. Your too good of a player to make that kind of snap judgment.
The Caro isn't solid. Which strong player thinks it is?
Um... Only Fabiano Caruana... but hey.. who's he? He's just a patzer ... Right?
Just beat Dariusz Swiercz 2600+ ELO with the Caro-Kann
How about Dommaraju Gukesh... another Patzer right?
Etienne Bacrot vs Dommaraju Gukesh 0-1
Patzers...
I have good success with Owen's Defense, b6. It's a counter attacking defence in the spirit of the Pirc and Modern Defenses.

Good choice, but that's not popular

I say it because it is true!
I personally don't play 1...c5 or 1...c6, but that does not negate their legitimacy. I play 1...e5 and 1...e6. All 4 moves are perfectly fine and purely a matter of taste.
The other 16 moves are all inferior to the big 4. Some may not be AS INFERIOR as others, like 1...d6 is not as bad as 1...h5 or 1...f5, but the other 16 moves are all inferior and hence crap!
Where does 1...d5 rank amongst the crap responses to 1.e4? Probably 3rd behind 1...d6 and 1...g6.

1. The Sicilian Defense is the most popular response to White's . Employed by masters and beginners alike, the Sicilian Defense is a reputable and positionally sound opening. Still, the Sicilian is a combative opening that tends to lead to dynamic and sharp positions.
The Scicilian Defense
2. The Caro-Kann Defense is known above all for its solidity. The defining move, 1...c6, is the fourth most popular reply to and nearly twice as common as the number five move. It prepares for 2...d5 without blocking in the light-squared bishop, which is considered the main drawback of its cousin the French Defense ( e6). A standby for positional players at almost every level, the Caro-Kann was a particular favorite of world champion GM Anatoly Karpov.
The Caro-Kann Defense
3. The French Defense is one of the most popular Black responses to . It has consistently been a part of masters' repertoire since the 1800s and one of the favorites of positional players. Usually leading to slower games, this opening is a good choice for players of all levels.
The French Defense
4. The Scandinavian Defense, formerly better known in English language texts as the Center-Counter, is Black's seventh most popular response to .

These moves are most commonly suggested by books but, the move always we suggest is e5.
