There is no "best opening" in chess. Instead openings can roughly be tiered by their "objective quality." The Italian is a top tier opening in chess so you're fine to play it up to World Championship level.
At your level you should focus on opening principles.
1) Put pawns in the center.
2) Develop knights and bishops to good squares. Usually knights first.
3) Don't move developed pieces twice.
4) Castle early.
5) And in the style of Orwell's rules for English, break any of these rules before hanging material or giving up a mating attack.
The Italian is pretty good in this regard as it puts the e pawn in the center, develops two pieces to good squares and prepares a quick kingside castle.
What is the best opening in chess? I usually go with the Italian game I play e4, nc3 then bishop to c4. Or I would develop. I need some help learning some good openings.
