CK: 42% as White and 55% as Black. I don't really understand this. If you understand this opening well enough to score 55% with it as Black, how can it be such a weakness as White? Playing against your own openings should be a sure way to get good results.
The whole thing is a bit strange, but the CK stats in particular confuse me. Maybe you play a line as White that you struggle against as Black? If that is the case then that mystery is solved. Play a line as White that you are strong against as Black. A position you play well, probably from both sides.
So i am hovering around 1600 rating here, nothing serious. And noticed that my win rate as black is significantly higher, for anywhere up to 5 percentage points depending on sample.
Thus i messed a bit with pgn_s and came to some interesting stats accross 900+ games sample.
Points as black won are 53.44%. Points as white only 48.16%. As black good at caro kann with 55%. Good with all c6 defenses really with 62% in english with smaller sample and decent queen pawn defense at 48%.
But then comes white. I though that leak is sicilian as i dont like it but it turns that i can play it with 53%. But then comes problems. My opening of choice is kings gambit, granted it is fun but not effective when i am sacrificing all over the board, 48%. Then there are problems. Vs french 37.5% as white over 50 games sample, jeez. vs caro kann 42%. Scandinavian 44%.
So while it is obvious where i have to put in the work if i want to better as white i would still like to ask for any ideas about interesting white openings to pick.
