Bongcloud Opening

Another Sicilian Bongcloud bullet, this time played on this site. To avoid complaints, I will dub Black "NN", but I have the original pgn file with the name of the player in case the game should be published in an opening book.

(Why NN? Because after another game that I won with 1 e4 e5 2 Ke2!! my opponent was so outraged as to write an abusive message! She even censored me before I even had time to take stock!)

Whatever. The game is interesting because although I couldn't make Her Majesty cross the equator, I managed to take my King out to a jolly good walk (too bad that the planned 8 Kg5, once considered a brilliant move, would have been countered by 8...h6+!! 9 Kh4 g5#, a sequence recently found by Sesse that had been overlooked by experts and BMs because of its poor patzer-sees-check look.

Another motif of interest is that I won with the Alekhine Gun. This improperly named formation, where the Queen backs up a couple of doubled Rooks from behind, seems in fact to have been the invention of Blackburne.

The Alekhine-Blackburne Gun was featured in the first Sveti Stefan match between Fischer and Spassky (1992). An indirect confirmation of the rumors that the former American World Champion had been repeatedly tempted to use the Bongcloud vs his Russian arch-rival.

Alas, having spat on the letter from the US  Department of Treasure at the opening ceremony, even a free spirit like Fischer decided to leave rebellion out of the chessboard and dropped the idea. So, more modestly, he stuck to one of the typical attacking formations that are eased by the early development of the King in Lenny's Attack.

bongcloud!

Damonevic-Smithlov

I wonder how the bongcloud got it's name.

Damonevic-Smithlov

That's likely.

Maybe there should be an opening called the crackhead attack.
