Friends, What kind of "soundness rating" do you give The Budapest Gambit? "Funtime Rating"?

I think it is very fun.  The only problem with the Budapest is that White can give back the pawn in return for the bishop pair and a slight advantage.

Depends on who you're playing. The better the player, the more unsound it becomes. If he's a memorized opening kind of player it could become interesting. Very aggressive play and troublesome for those who haven't seen it. What do you want out of the game? Fun or soundness? Where you playing? The local club, OTB, on-line? You want a cut and dried rendering?, all you'll get is perceptions.

The main difference between the Englund gambit and the budapest is that the Gambit player Queen does not need to get involved in the fight!  It's strategically sounded.

I like both gambits, though.
