Hi all, I would like to thank all of your replies to my forums like Thrillerfan ( Did I spell it correctly?), so I would like to ask for feedback on this, For the first few moves of the games, pls refer to the earlier forums like which is better, stonewall attack or London System. Thanks in advance!happy.png

Do you mean the Stonewall Variation of the Dutch Defense?  One White opening can't beat another White opening.  Someone's got to play Black!

If you are talking the Stonewall Variation of the Dutch Defense, Black would be advised not to do this.  The Stonewall Dutch can't be played as a system.  There are certain White structures that it works again, and others where it doesn't where Black should either Fianchetto the Queenside or play the Classical Variation (...d6), depending on circumstances.

For a Dutch player, going against the London System, one should play 1.d4 f5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bf4 e6 4.e3 b6!

The whole point behind the Stonewall Dutch is to block when White beats Black to the diagonal.  After 1.d4 f5 2.g3 Nf6 3.Bg2 e6 4.Nf3, Black plays d5 because he  really can't play 4...b6.  Ideally, Black would like to fianchetto the Bishop with pawns on d7, e6, and f5.  Also, if White can still play Bf4 and Bd3 without weakening the Kingside with something like g3, the Stonewall is horrible.  For example, 1.d4 f5 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 e6 4.Nf3, Black should play 4...Bb4 as 4...d5? is a horrible move.  Advantage White after 5.Bf4, 6.e3, and 7.Bd3.  Black does not want to trade Dark-Squared Bishops unless he can wreck White's pawns.  With the Bishop getting to f4 first, any ...Bd6 response will be traded by White with advantage!

Hope this helps.
