uh queens gambit or London system
Can you show me some d4 openings?
If White plays 1. d4, there are three ways to eliminate the possibility of them playing 2. e4 and getting a strong center: 1. ... d5, 1. ... Nf6 (Indian) and 1. ... f5 (Dutch). Against 1. d4 d5 and 1. d4 Nf6 White usually plays 2. c4, in the Dutch the main move is 2. g3.
In the opening 1. d4 d5 2. c4 (Queen's Gambit), Black has three main moves: 2. ... e6 (QG Declined), 2. ... dxc4 (QG Accepted) and 2. ... c6 (Slav Defense). QGD is the most solid, a typical continuation is 3. Nc3 (preparing e4) Nf6 4. Bg5 (pins the knight) Be7 (unpins) 5. e3 0-0 6. Nf3. You can also play Be7 before Nf6 and there are a number of other possibilities. In the Slav the main line is 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. Nf3 dxc4 5. a4 (to prevent b5 to keep the extra pawn) Bf5 6. e3 e6 7. Bxc4.
In the Indian system you have to decide where to develop the bishop from f8. You then play either 2. ... e6 or 2. ... g6 (if you want to fianchetto). In the former you play 3. Nc3 Bb4 (Nimzo-Indian) and in the latter 3. Nc3 Bg7 (King's Indian), but some other options are available, too. The problem with Indian defenses is that they allow White to get a strong center, which QGD/Slav avoids.
I'm a beginner at chess and I am doing a lot of study. I have a weakness which is playing as black against d4. I know a lot of e4 openings and opening tips ( Like play in the center, get you king safe, etc) which is helpful but I'm bad at playing against d4 as black. Please tell me some openings on d4 so I can improve my chess a bit.
