Caro-Kann Defense: Hillbilly Attack.

I like to play the caro-kann against 1.e4 and I sometimes come across this strange variation but I don't know what it's purpose. If you don't know the moves, it's 1. e4 c6 2. bc4(?) ( The website counts this as the hillbilly attack )

It is an unsound gambit.
The idea is 1 e4 c6 2 Bc4 d5 3 Bb3 dxe4 4 Qh5 g6 5 Qh4

i just beat a carokann with the hillbilly. i wasn't playing book, just trying to attack f7 as in the king's gambit and krejcik alekhine. i'm REALLY happy as i've always done poor against the carokann. i've been planning to study the caveman, but that's way down on my priorities as it rarely appears.

 

if anyone's curious... here's my game:

1. e4 c6 2. Bc4 a5 3. a4 Na6 4. c3 Nc7 5. Nf3 b5 6. axb5 cxb5 7. Bxf7+ Kxf7 (I call it a "can opener" attack. i hate pawns in my way) 8. Ne5+ Ke6?? (+8.5) 9. d4 Nf6 10. Qf3 h6 (missed a mate in 7) 11. Qf5+ Kd6 12. Nf7+ Kc6 13. Nxd8+ Kb6 14. Qc5+ Ka6 15. Rxa5+ Kxa5 16. b4+ Ka6 17. Na3 Ra7 (17.Qxc7 e5 18.Qa5#) 18. Nxb5 Nxb5 19. c4 Rb7 20. Nxb7 Bxb7 21. Qxb5+ Ka7 (21.cxb5#) 22. Be3 Nxe4 23. O-O Nc3 24. d5+ Kb8 25. Qxd7 e5 26. dxe6 e.p. Bxb4 27. Ra1
