Caro Khan Variation

- As mentioned above, it's Caro-Kann, not Caro-Khan
- It's the second move, not the third move (1.e4 c6 2.Be2)
- Computer evaluations on move 2 are not super useful.
The evaluation of 2.Be2 depends altogether on what white is planning after 2...d5.

Be2 doesn't make too much sense. It develops, but not actively, and there's no big idea behind it. Still, can't be terrible. I suppose it could transpose to the Short Variation.

If you want to put a minor piece on e2 on the second move against the CK, you might consider 2.Ne2!? instead of 2.Be2?!
