thats a good questions... lets see... you are an experienced player.... the a6 slav will give you a situation wherre you might be more knowledgeable than your opponents. BUT, learning the slav will put you in a situation where you will gain a better understanding of more slavs and slav positions in chess...
better in one, learn more in the other.

i guess we can say you can learn the chebanenko better, after learning the slav.
i like your choices, these are great openings.
you can find some good books, mathew sadler has written some, pederssen, and well chebanenko slav from bologan.
there might be a dvd from roman as well... although thats not his specialty (the slav)

I am currently looking for a secondary and more solid reply to 1. d4 and am deciding between the Slav or the Chebanenko Slav. I am 2104 USCF and looking for a solid reply to 1. d4 as I improve and play more and more titled players. I am not afraid of the theory presented by either. Does anyone have any recommendations for books and/or the pros and cons of each?
