My invented opening Guarranteed win

these sorts of openings are spelled o-p-i-n-i-n-g-s. And you don't invent them: you invint them. Got it?

kleelof

Sorry to rain on your parade. But this opening of yours has already been 'invented'.

It's called the Queens Fianchetto Defense.

The reason you won those games was not because of this defense, but because you outplayed obviously weaker players.

100 Rating points, at your level, is not that big a difference. That 100 points mostly covers games lost because of dropped pieces.

Also, have you thought of a name for your invinted opining yet? Maybe you should consider naming it after yourself?

pieace

idk, macer, the name is long, and not so catchy. How about "the beatiful opining"?

kleelof

Maybe I'm being a little thick. But I don't get this 'opining' joke.

[Sorry, all].  There is, or was, a very funny thread started by a player named "Daeth", promoting an "opining" he "invinted", and asking how he could get it named after him.  They just don't make them like that anymore...

april fools ?? IS IT SERIOUS ????

I'm certain he's serious.

Sounds like a placebo thing; he has this opening he thinks is unstoppable so perhaps it has given him some courage to play better. So now he seems to think it is real.

This is where someone comes in the room and asks "What about 18. Rxd8?" and everyone sighs, rolls their eyes, and feels sorry for the awkward guy who totally doesn't understand how these things work.
