If you are lacking a clear-cut plan, it seems to me that you do not necessarily need a new opening, but rather more study material on the middlegame/pawn structures

Always play the Dutch Defence! I love it!

But seriously, it depends on you. You have to find something that fits you and your style.

I love playing the Old Benoni Defence! It's a great opening to play against the oh so common Queens Pawn opening from white. 

I've found that Black doesn't really know how to respond correctly, which makes for a really fun game!

Used to play that, but the d6 pawn is such pain to defend at times. 

Nowadays, I play this.

No "really" forcing lines, the theory of the Alekhine isn't as well known as the Sicilians and the French. It doesnt fight for an advantage, but it gives a decent opening position for black to build on.
