I made this opening up a few months ago, and managed to win some games with it.
But seriously i got a point though. I mean why do you think they named it the Kings Pawn or the Queens Pawn Opening?
because you are moving the pawn in front of the king
or the pawn in front of the queen
e4 and d4 were also infinitely more common than e3 and d3 back in the day
