In this game, I crushed a guy in 18 moves when he used the french defense. I did some gambit against it and it worked. ( I don't know the name of it). I use to play the french all the time until I switched over to the siclillan. When here it is I was white. Please comment and rate please

Also another thing, why didnt black take my knight with his bishop that would have saved him alot of trouble

Nice win, 11...Qd6 was the decisive mistake. Qb8 is the only move in that position.

yes but why didnt he get rid of my knight when he had the chance

After he captures the knight and you capture the bishop, it's check and his king can't castle. He also may have just been trying to get a free piece. Since after qb6 he can capture your knight with his bishop and his queen guarding it.

I think this game is proof that he had to take the N. I haven't looked at this line long enough, and I'm not a French player...but jeez, this sure seems like an interesting/important line.  Can this be right? I mean you give up two center pawns... 11...Qd6 must be a mistake. I'm just writing spur of the moment, but this whole game deserves a longer look IMO.

this is a gambit that i found in the gambit gang forum. I normaly play the reti gambit against the french but i decided to play this. I think I will be sticking with this for a while

This is the Milner Barry Gambit.

It is dangerous for black to take the 2nd pawn, but he can get away with it 11...Qb8 and then defending for a little while longer. A better move is 10...a6 which cuts out a lot of white's tactical possibilities. 10...a6 has become the mainline these days.
