Can you give an example of an opening so I understand?

thats what i dont know, usually tho lets say for e4 i prefer caro with black but for d4 idk

What about moves like b6, e6 followed by f5 and then Nf6? I never tried it, so not sure how’s it going to work.

ohhh that why not bg7 tho? i get the point of ba6 a little but it seems awkward

You attack the c4 pawn (obviously) but it’s not comfortable for white to defend that pawn. You don’t really wanna move your queen early, your knight can’t defend d5 from d2 and b3 (main line) forces white to develop his bishop from b2

Ba6 is the modern move, because black usually plays d5, which locks in the bishop. On a6 it hits the c4 pawn and when black plays d5 in the future, it puts more pressure on it.

1.d4 b6 is not so good on account of 2.e4.

Kowarenai

the problem why i dont use benoni is cause i feel like its weak and violates main patterns where i usually would have solid structures and be able to know where to develop my own pieces safely while being ok. in the benoni i feel like my pawns are weak, idk where to put the bishop, nor how to play for anything including b5 once they play a4 to prevent it. maybe show some examples or videos and i could consider but it just feels very awkward for me

What if e6, followed by f5 (blocking e4) then comes b6?

Well, it is comfortable (to me), playable (definitely), not theoretical (mostly thematic), and I FEEL like it is simple to know

Well, then he would have to learn some French defense.

I’m on phone so I can’t but

d4 Nf6

c4 c5

d5 e5

Nc3 d6 (Bd6 is the czech snake)

e4 Be7 (g6, going into a KID-type setup, is also good)

Kowarenai

i mean b6, e6 kind of transposes to a e4 opening so eh.... not rlly this topic tho

Why? It's bloody amazing! It's exciting and takes even the highest rating players out of their comfort zone
