Aye, it is. It's a draw with the best play from each side, so what's to lose?

It is simple to learn and VERY affective.

You really don’t see a lot of people playing it otb, and those that do aren’t very high rated, class players at best.

That's a good thing!

No it’s not a good thing… why would having the highest exponent of your opening be some class B tournament player be a good thing?

IT IS EQUAL WHEN BOTH SIDES PLAY THE BEST MOVES. IT WILL CAUSE CONFUSION TO YOUR OPPONENT UNLESS THEY STUDY OPPENING THEORY ALL DAY

I've tried LOADS of opening against 1.d4 as I hated playing against it, the Albin is the only one that has been enjoyable, easy to play, suited my aggression, and has taken the opponent out of their theoretical d4 bubble.

Yes, that is what works for you, but may not necessarily be what works for others.

Actually it gives white 51% win chance, and black 28% win chance. I wouldn’t suggest playing it I guess

Only on the database, firstly a 51% win rate for white is poor. You said nothing about the draw rate.

Well it must not be very equal to the higher rated players, since they aren’t playing it. There’s a line in the Catalan which is “equal” (0.5 for white), yet white has never lost a single game in the masters database (winning 85% of the games)

Yes but I don't expect to be playing GM's very soon. Levy plays it and has something like an 80% win rate against other titled players.

Well, OP has already said that he doesn’t really like the albin. I suppose you can stay around and try to convince him otherwise…

I wasn’t aware that levy was playing the albin counter gambit in his five hour tournament games.

I tried to follow up the best moves, but I found it gives around 1 point for white (+1).

I didn't say anything about tournament games

Okay, then it gives white 51% winning chance, and black 28% winning chance.

TheZugswanger

I have been one tricking the Nimzo Indian for as long as I can remember.

Owl-ish

AS I SAID 51% AINT A GREAT WIN RATE.

ITS ABOUT THE DRAW RATE

white usually has a higher win rate than 51%, the Albin CG whittles that down.

I have repeated myself at least twice in everything I've said either read it right or shut it
