move 7 should be h3
Do you consider the parham to be the best opening ever, or just your favorite?

guys, instead of arguing about e4 or d4, we should be arguing about what is the WORST opening move.
That should be another forum topic

Its my favorite, and very good but underrated.
This is starting to sound a little like the gavinator.

No, he can't be gavinator. Instead of arguing about how great white's position is after that Bg5 line like gavinator did, he gives a much better move. I still don't believe the parham is very good though, but white isn't lost. However, I might point out that against the parham black gets a better position than he does against the king's gambit, so it's impossible to claim that the king's gambit is refuted and the parham is strong at the same time.
The only thing I hate about the QGD is that if no matter how black plays your first 10-15 moves are the same. After that you can begin to actually play. Other d4 openings are much more interesting, but I still wouldn't call the QGD boring.
The KG is not "busted". It's no longer played at top levels, because black achieves equality, but you can't call it "busted".

Though I strongly disagree with the taking the beauty out of chess part:

In the first notice the gorgeous pawn structure, and in the second take special note of white's elegant piece coordination and how he brings the king to the queenside where it's needed more, and then back to the kingside when the queenside weaknesses were taken care of.
Thats one line in which black played poorly, with accurate play, the KG is busted.
No I agreed that it's busted. Also, that's Bobby Fischer's line, the very line that busted the gambit, you aren't arrogant enough to say Bobby Fischer plays against the King's Gambit poorly are you?

1. the kg isnt busted, it is a draw, like every other reasonable opening.
2. fischer actually had better results PLAYING the kg than against it.
