The Old Benoni move order isn’t ideal because White can avoid playing c4.

Black loses counter play when White doesn’t play c4.

The more Modern way to play Benoni is to start with 1…Nf6.

3…b5 - Benko Gambit

3…e6 - Modern Benoni

5…Bd6 - Snake Benoni

5…d6 - Standard way of playing the Benoni
