Do London players understand that they are playing boring chess?

the World Champion just beat Anish Giri with 1. b4. He beats other people multiple times regardless if he uses the London System or not

I mean, I can understand for the London, but should someone really be a grandmaster if said player can't at least draw against 1.b4. What are their opening repertoire made of smh my head

The London can be played sharp or boring like many other openings. Historically it attracted a fair bit of flak as a patzer opening since the first several moves are very natural and easy for new players to pick up but it's 2021 now. Top GMs play it for a win. Optimizations were mapped so now it's played more as an 'attack' than a 'system' opening.

Once the players that came to chess due to "Queen's Gambit", Corona or Pog Champs will have moved to another hobby, the London will gradually decline.

hopefully, i dont even think my scores against the London are bad but it's literally the same thing every time

Boring chess and draws aren't the same thing.

He meant that they would be playing the Queen's Gambit rather than the London.

Levy Rozman plays the london... his bot also loathes draws

I guess the QG is too complex. And there were some London videos for beginners on youtube, for example by Gotham Chess or Hikaru...

QGD also has several major branches. Bg5 vs Bf4 for white and Be7 vs Bb4 for black.
