I like playing the fantasy against Caro. Kinda throws my opponents off sometimes
Caro kann is better for me, although french was the first opening I learned.

Caro kann is a completely fine opening that is played at supergm level as well. In the advance caro kann compared to the advanced french, you often lose a tempo but your light squared bishop is actually good and not stuck behind a wall of pawns
When Botvinnik quit playing the French he changed to... the Caro-Kann.
The advance variation of the Caro-Kann is not to be feared more than the advance variation of the French.

I play and love the Caro-Kann. It's a great opening and I also love playing the advanced variation as black.
white is crushing black
Play the Latvian Gambit instead, it’s all hope and no pawns.

I'm sure all caro kann players will now stop thanks to this 900 rated OP's efforts.
The Advanced variation has fighting chances for both sides. The Exchange French is dead compared to the Exchange Caro. The Caro was even made as an improved French.
Why play Caro kann, its totally outclassed by French! White can just do advanced and ruin black!
