Dubious defense: 1. Nf3 e5?!

While it probably seems ridiculous to answer 1. Nf3 with 1. ... e5?!, it certainly is interesting in how it might develop (both accepting the apparently useless gambit or declining it). What do you make of it? Would black's response to 2. Nxe5 be 2. ... d6 or 2. ... Nc6?

How might this opening be actually useful? I'm partiularly interested in these types of unusual openings, but in this case I have no idea on how this could develop positively for black.

No, you get nothing as black. 2...d6 may be the best move in this situation. Black is basically a pawn down. For example in King's Gambit, white gets the center, in Albin countergambit, black destroys white's center. Here... I can't see a positive plan.

The only benefit is getting a dingbat out of book. If your opponent is truly dumb, this may just work. Otherwise, you're just shooting a pawn for nothing.

adumbrate

It makes your opponent get confused on a cost of a pawn.

csalami

It's just a free pawn for white.

Yes, I can't really see any positive outcome.
