Dumb question

Well, I think that I have surmised that if black is not afraid of white playing f4 and incorporating kings Gambit type ideas, then there are really no sidelines by white to keep black from playing the Latvian Gambit. Or specifically the Gambit name mentioned against the bishop opening.

In the Kings Gambit, Black does have several different replies

The d5 line is considered good.

Even taking the f4 pawn and trying to defend it with moves like g5, h6, and/or Nf6 to h5.

All these things happen in the Kings Gambit!

In the line we are looking at, It looks like Black is trying to do a Reversed Kings Gambit.

IM Pfren was saying d4 moves which seem similar to the d5 line players play against Kings Gambit (Just with White Bishop on c4).

I do wonder if White has d3 moves Similar to Bobby Fischers Defense!

With ideas of g4 + h3 to follow

It is interesting for sure!

Yes, I would think that white would have all the options of black in the kings Gambit just in reverse. Accepting or declining, in this case playing d3 and declining going into a Fischer defense in reverse.

But my question would be, does it benefit white to play "passively "? When in the current position it does not look like black has equalized by overcoming White's first move advantage.

Does this opening even have a name?

Yes. Two people were kind enough to post it earlier in the thread.
