Duras Gambit.

I play this and it's fairly good.. can someone go more in depth to it for me?
Also any good varations?
“Fairly good”
Why does black always move the knight after the gambit is accepted? d5 is strong and Idk how white can punish
queen check on weak king diagnol

whats the purpose of Duras gambit??
The purpose of the stunning Duras Gambit is to make your opponent's thinking power to become low (because they just won and they thinks you're dumb) when rematched. And then you'll win
tl;dr: to make you win when you rematched

D5 immediately after the Duras gambit is pretty much the opposite of strong. You are allowing the queen to support the lone pawn that you deflected over to your kingside. Now you've lost all the benefits of the gambit and you are down a pawn with nothing to show for it. It leads to a really sketchy middlegame more often than not where you have a dangerously open kingside and minimal development. If you instead develop the knight and block Queen H5 you have a decent chance at winning the center as well as the potential to fluster your opponents. I've only just recently started playing this and I have to say it is a refreshing break from more grindy well known openings. Its pretty awkward to play as white if black has a decent grasp on tactics here.
There are a lot of good attacks coming from that gambit. I don't think its a terrible opening, especially for blitz.
