I might prefer the black side of OP's opening, they are only down by two,and gambit players assume they will be playing down anywhere from 1 to 4 pawns.

There's a big difference between these 2 scenarios:

1. you are down a pawn or two, but you have some compensation: better development, better king safety, initiative, attack, whatever.

2. you are down a full rook and you have nothing in return.

Also, the opening post is 12 years old.
