e4 Vs d4

Which is better and why..??
At your level, it doesnt matter.
You are right ...it does not matter at high levels.,black has an equal play against BOTH E4 and D4(king's Indian and lot more) ..what matters is just good play by both sides that is seen frequently at my level...
Never forget ...if ur opponent makes good moves it is OK to loose? I don't agree!
Fight back ..WIN OR LEARN
This is the thought at high levels .... I made this article to support beginers for small opeaning advantage , anyways play , learn , enjoy!!!
Regards
Okay... Hey, a question. Why do you have a fide rating of 2700+ and is rated about 1100 in blitz here?
Wait, don't answer that. I don't even want to know the story of your fall from chess heaven. [JK]
P.S - I really don't know if there is a "best" opening in chess, but there are certainly openings that work best for individuals. I suggest you find yours.

I find it harder to get a good edge against d4 on a regular basis. To play for a win as black, you need to be more destabilizing and audacious, which can, of course, blow up in your face.

Neither is objectively better. Both are great... but problem is they have become so analysed that most anybody has a pet reply ready... often a sicilian or indian line?
d4 will usual be a quieter, slower game... but opponent could play KID or Semi Slav.
An expert said recently that 4 main openings are about equal... is a question of taste. So maybe try nf3 or English?
Which is better and why..??

Many people claim the Sicilian is a strong response to e4. However in my experience, one has to be a strong player to use it effectively.

Which is better?
It's a dumb question.
and why..??
Probably because you're a noob.
"... [1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 Nf6 4 Ng5] Bc5 is a crazy sideline, best defused with 5 Bxf7+ Ke7 6 Bd5!. …" - IM Sam Collins (2005)
"... there are great complications involved and not everyone will feel at home in [the line 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 Nf6 4 Ng5]. White can also continue in a more 'normal' way and the most 'normal' thing to do is perhaps 4 d4, a move which combines motifs from the Italian with the Scotch Opening. …" - GM Paul van der Sterren (2009)

This is how I play if I use e4
That is not how you play the traxler, both you and your opponent blundered multiple times.

3.Nf3 allows the Alekhine Variation 3...a6. I prefer to avoid that with 3.e3, since I'm happy playing 3...e5 4.Bxc4 exd4 5.exd4 Bd6 6.Nf3 Nf6 7.Qe2+, while I'm less hapy facing 3...a6 4.e3 Bg4.
