Broke even off a tournament and thought I play one more game as a night cap before bed. Got d4 with the black pieces so no way I was putting up with theory, a London System or grind.

To my delight, I got my first Stockholm Variation in rapid play! Probably good reason that I could not find a thread and so here we are. All things Englund Gambit:

Always makes me chuckle because the engine calls it a “Nice comeback win!” for the pawn gambit.

Fun! Fun! I usually try something like 4...b6 with Bb7 / O-O-O with a delayed ...f6 or ...d6. Always interesting to get in a Englund Gambit!

4.Nc3 is IMHO actually the easiest way to refute then Qe7 line (although Bf4 might be objectively better).

I think this is better and also supported by stockfish 14.1  nnue I don't think you give the pawn back without punishing them for playing trash openings and this is truly soul crushing

I appreciate the replies but “soul crushing” is a little harsh for a metaphor lol. It’s just for fun and a coin flip for the win:
