Evan's gambit accepted with the knight?

Got some games here and in person with this rare version of evan's gambit (me playing white). 

Is the MOST logic and convenient response here simply just taking the center pawn with Nxe5 right?, or is there another "best" move? O.O

5...Qf6 might be good.

Yes, this is a black's trap and 5. Nxe5? is a mistake cuz of 5...Qf6!

The correct move is 5. c3.

so I should treat it like a "normal" Evan's gambit.  thanks!!!   

Yes and, after 5. c3 Nc6, it becomes the McDonnell Defense (with the bishop on c5) of the Evans Gambit Accepted which is more favorable for white than the main line (with the bishop on a5).
