Yeah I like it, but it doesn't seem to me like white has much in this line (until 16...0-0):

The evan's is pretty much busted if you know the lines. A lot of the time white lands in an endgame struggling for equality.
@Cogwheel good question, but a thread on the kings gambit devolped from just around the same thing. Perhaps both should have been lefted to die, but alas people have a tendency to talk.
I'd just like to point out that it's "Evans Gambit" not "Evan's Gambit"...it always pisses me off for some reason when people get that wrong
@ Cogwheel I know. I can never tell what threads are meant as jokes and which ones should have serious responses. I wonder if this has something to do with my shocking lack of empathy.
Can someone tell me where I went wrong with Evans Gambit? Was it the actual line or just my mid-end game?
@alexmoore421 thank you!! it is so clear once it is pointed out! I will keep this in mind for the lines where black dark bishop stops on d6. I knew that blocking in their light square bishop was a big mistake, but then surprised i couldn't take control in the mid game.

Surely it is "Evans' Gambit"?
MexiTex you also made a mistake about trading the queens. In the Evans gambit you never want to trade queens.

Nah, "Evans Gambit"

Evans's.
Evans Gambit is not quite good enough for white. With modern day technology adequate ways of defending against this have been discovered with no realm improvements likely for white. I am afraid its time to shelve this romantic opening to room 101!
Maybe in a centaur tournament. I haven't had trouble winning with it, and Anand found defence tough against Kasparov.
Evan's Gambit is one of the hardest gambits to defend against. White quickly gains the center and gets pressure on the f7 pawn. Truethfuly, this is my favorite opening.
