I seem to be a weaker guy than you are if the grades on this site are to be believed, but I do like romantic gambits and have been rattling around looking into them for many a long year. I am not sure what you mean by gambits "like" The Alien/Martian? In what way similar? To my mind their key feature is sacrifice of material to displace the King and weaken its protection early. The two gambits closest to those attributes I can think of are the Cochrane Gambit against the Petrov Defence and the Allgaier Gambit. Neither is what I'd call sound, but at fast time limits they'll likely get opponents out of their comfort zones.

hey brother by meaning gambits like alien and martian i mean gambits like those types which exploits weak squares very quickly and the attack can be done very fast with a lot of initiative for example in MG the light squares around the king are very weak and the king is mated if black cannot defend properply..
when i look up to the cochrane gambit it was very goood it was kind of similar to ag with the weak light squares i will for sure try it in some games .❤️and i think personally there is a more romantic line in kings gambit
i havent analyzed this yet but i think its romantic yeah and it can be refuted too allgaier gambit is also good i will TRY it too. i love your views ,,thank you for your time writing this have a lovely day<3(sorry for my english, its not my first language)
@Interstellar_Alien I am glad my post was useful. Please do not worry about your English - it is fine. Maybe do not try to write a novel in English just yet, but you make your meaning clear every time.
I agree that the King's Gambit line you give at #3 is more "romantic" than the Allgaier, but it comes with a bigger problem: Black gets a very solid and easy to play and probably much better game if he or she does not play 4..., g4. And avoiding playing ..., g4 is quite normal and easy to find.
For example:
If Black does not play 5..., h6 in the Allgaier, seeking to avoid main lines, White still gets fun complications. Axel Neffe - David Bronstein, Wrexham 1995 is a good example of how White can keep things "interesting" in such Allgaier lines.
Good luck with the Romantic play. May it bring you much joy.
i think you meant g4 but cannot white play h5 anf if h6 takes takes and exchange the rookies also the engine approves a wild line let me show you
after the trade of rooks g4 trying to make the dark square diagonal very weak but you just give it up
@Interstellar_Alien I did indeed mean 4..., g4. I am quite old (over 50) and grew up using the old English Descriptive Notation; in which that move would be 4..., P-Kt5 counting from Black's side. I still get muddled up sometimes with Algebraic when thinking from Black's side of the board.
I seem to recall there's some sort of big tactical problem with the 5. h4 line but I don't have my books with me right now.
no worries bebbe that was very very helpful i would try these whenever i get the chance .grateful for your ideas 👽💛
@Interstellar_Alien looking at the line you gave at #6 I do not understand where White's play comes from after 9..., gxf3. if White takes either f-Pawn 10..., Qh4+ looks fine for Black. What am I missing?

actually nc3 is a mistake
engine says white can play something like this because of lack of develop, ent of black pieces (white is loosing slighlty)
@Interstellar_Alien I re-explored this sort of position overnight (Karpov was still World Champion when I last looked at Greco-Philidor lines seriously : it's been a while), and to my mind the problem is that Black does not have to be so obliging and plough ahead with 8..., g4. I find that's often the way with the King's Gambit. There are many lines which are very promising if Black grabs all the material, but which become far less promising if Black is a bit calmer and less materialistic (cf #5 above). I think Black should play something like 8..., Nc6 instead. If White wants to open the King's side he would then need to give up a tempo playing the non-developing move 9. g3 after which 9..., g4; 10. Bxf4, gxf3; 11. Qxf3 doesn't look quite so nice. I put this through the Engine after having my think, and Stockfish has the final position as -2.75.
