favorite openings

I would like to know more openings. Currently I mainly play either the bird opening or the kings fianchetto. I would like to advance my knowledge of openings farther and am asking for recommendations please.

As white, e4. Open Sicilian and Ruy Lopez are my favourite. These are openings of the highest prestige and second to none.

French Defense Baby! 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 - (Or various transpositions, like 1.d4 d5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bg5 e6 4.e4 is the Classical French, for example).
