Well, obviously, 4...Nc5 is a mistake, and not at all the correct line. Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure the "book" move for that position is 4...d5

 This way black only loses a pawn instead of his queen! The mistake was 3...Nxe4. The book move was 3...d6

This is called the Tarrasch trap, by the way.

The main line of the Petrov's Defence (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6) is 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.d4 d5.
