Unfortunetly a troll ruined my post, so I have to ask my question again. Is 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Bc4 NxP 4. BxP+ KxB 5. NxN d5 6. Qf3+ Kg8 7. Ne2 PxN 8. Qb3+ Resigns ,in the books, or is it new? Instead of deleting the whole thread I think it would have been better to just edit the troll's posts.

4. BxP+ is not explored in the above link.

Yes, 6...Kg8 is a mistake ( but understandable because black wants to get his king into safety). If everyone played perfectly there would not be any traps. A follow up question, If Black had instead played 6... Ke8 would it have been worth sacrificing the center for putting black's king in a vulnerable position?

It is similar to this :

So here, the difference is Qf3 but again, this is not good for white :

Black has centre and Kg8 could go to h7 after h6 at some point.

You wrote,"4... Kxf7 5. Nxe4 5... d5almost the same position than the first game i gave (where Nf3-Nc6 inserted). Ok white can try Qf3 but not troublesome for black : 6. Qf3+ 6... Kg8 7. Ne2 7... Nc6or Be6 "

OK black does not take the knight. But is the horrible position of black's king worth sacrificing the center? When you say that the position is not troublesome for black are you implying equality with white, since material is equal? And if that is so, my variation is legitimate because most openings are = after 8 moves.  So we have an opening variation that leads to equality with the chance that black will fall for a hard to see trap. Is my line of reasoning reasonable?

fischerman_bob

If my reasoning is reasonable, then 4, Bxf7+ does not deserve a question mark.

fischerman_bob

Has the idea 8 Qb3+ been considered before? Or has no one ever analyzed that far before. Sometimes when a move ( in this case Bxf7+ ) is rejected, the consequences are not considered , especially the consequences in the far future ( 4 moves into the future ).

poucin

All this has been considered since ages and yes, this is bad for white...

When i said not troublesome, it was about king's safety, which could be the problem for black. But it is isn't...

@fischerman_bob, best line continues with 4. Qh5 instead. In the 10 move continuation, White is up an exchange, but stays a bit behind in development if black plays accurately in order to retreat his Queen. But its a variation that has over 50% win percentage for games under master level. I like it a lot
