The question was 'against the French Defense' not 'in the French Defense'. Nobody plays 3...c5 because of 4.exd5.

The line you give is VASTLY INFERIOR with bad defense shown by Black!

13.Bh3 is not good.  Better is 13.N1h2, or also a couple of other options.

The sacrifice on e6 is of not threat at all.  Your proposal for Black of 13...h6 is utter BS.  Especially in the King's Indian Attack, do not advance pawns on the side in which you are weak unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.  13...h6 is NOT absolutely necessary, and just weakens Black's King.

2. Qe2 is a tricky line to get a favourite version of the KIA. I played it successfully (mostly 2.d3 and 3.Qe2 though).

Just for the reason of bragging: 14.Ne5! was a novelty of mine, found otb. It found it's way in the mighty Informant #102.

Let's also point out that I'm higher rated than you, and have over 20 years experience of playing the French, particularly as Black but also to a lesser degree the White side as well, and so hearing such rubbish from some clown that doesn't even play the defense and is lower rated just makes said 1800 player sound retarded!

Maybe IAMBBW comes from a very isolated area of Switzerland and he is, unfortunately, a product of a cousin marrying a cousin resulting in severe retardation of their offspring. In the USA, especially in Appalachia and many areas of the Deep South, this sad situation has occurred too many times in the past. We should extend to him our sympathies and be still willing to try to educate him. We Chess players must try to help out one another and particularly try harder to help those who reject our efforts. If they continue to refuse our help, then they are either mentally ill or truly retarded. A very good point to be made, in my opinion, is that just because a person does not play a certain opening or defence it does not necessarily follow that that particular system is intrinsically no good. It can simply be that it is not applicable to a person`s style. I`d like to finish my thoughts with a few observations about peoples`s opinions: True, we are all entitled to our opinions and we are not obligated in the least to have to explain why we conclude in any particular fashion. But if one cannot explain why they do not like something, one usually appears in the eyes of many to be either very uneducated, of a very diminished mental capacity or both. Let us not forget that people who suffer severe head trauma from for example falling off a mountaintop in the Alps or the Himalayas can still function but may lose the ability to think clearly on more sophisticated things like Chess.
