That is correct. I edited the first post on the original "ultimate e4 challenge" with the links to each team thread and each match thread. I will continue to do this as the matches move forward.
@chamo2074 - sorry about this. I wasn't as clear about the match thread link locations as perhaps I should have been.
But then team e5 is getting a 2000 over a 1100?
DaBabysBurner, that is your choice to make. these matches don't mean anything except an opportunity to test our pet opening lines (or maybe try new ones). Personally I would rather see the matches played out than see them bogged down.
FWIW, the match between the other two teams is similarly bogged. I'm pretty sure a few teams are going to change before round 3 gets started
Maybe we should have had an entry draft, like the NHL this week
Actually, how about we do that for the final round? It'll help bring in reinforcements from the other teams... and stop team french from sweeping everyone

I do have to question your lines though, castles in the poison pawn is weird, so is f4 vs Nc6 in the Vienna. I play both lines and wasn't taught these two lines
I usually play the gambit line in the winawer, and avoid castling K-side. But I have been reading Watson's book Play the French 3, and he recommends the Hertneck line with castling and Qc7. So I figured I would try it on. What I didn't do was check any of the online databases to see the current status of the variation. And so I was needlessly surprised by 10.Nh3. Shouldn't have been. <sigh> the player who doesn't check the databases has no advantage over teh player who has no access. 19.g4!? was ambitious on his part, as was my reply ...Rf3. Just ...Rf7 would have been sensible, but I was already looking to play an exchange sac. 20.Rb1? is the wrong choice of target. 20.Nf4 or 21.Nf4 would have forced me to sacrifice the exch in less favorable circumstances. Similarly 21.g5? closed the K-side, and made the sacrifice work. 23...Nf5 wasn't bad, but the more direct Rxc3 was cleaner. 24.Rb4?? (Ra1) 26.Qc1 was a blunder, as was my reply ...Qxc3+. I had seen the obvious 26...Rxe3+, and knew he would play 26 Qd1 instead of c1, so when it was my move I simply made the move I was going to play without looking at the board. <sigh> The player who doesn't look at the board has no advantage... you know. But even after ...Qxc3+ it was winning.
Its been a while since I looked at the line you played but I seem to remember what white normally does is put the knight on f4 instead of g5 and then push the h pawn and try to create weaknesses on the kingside and attack blacks king.

welp my opponent hanged his knight in 2 ways i can trap it and win it in 1 -2 moves but can simply take w bishop so i think i am completely winning now

Hello guinea pig, I didn't say I was participating in this.
Me and Guinea are in the middlegame right now in both of our games, the e4 e5 one turned into some sort of Falkbeer countergambit which I'm probably losing and the French one was a main line French where I am currently conducting operations on the queenside and Guinea is pushing pawns like a madman on the kingside
could we have updates please? you don't have to give us detailed analysis of your games, just let everyone know that you're playing or finished

French - e5: Black is completely busted. His queen got trapped - He got a Bishop for the Queen and will get a pawn for no compensation. Mere matter of time before Black resigns.
