LOL
French v. e5

g2 was a blunder as oponent could hv taken my pawn and then wtih knight canceling my whole idea of taking the free pawn then on move 21 oponent went for the bishop but by giving the check i had easily gotten away wit hit and then on the next move he blundered his knight move 41 oponent had to keep his rook there i would hv made a queen but it would not hv been discovered chack after that it was a simlpe mate pls help me analyse more of it ty
By g2 I assume you meant g3.
You made mistakes before that. For starters, while 2.Nc3 may be "possible", your follow-up was really bad. At your level, play the most principled move. When Black does not immediately cover d4 (via 1...c5 or 1...e5) and does not harass the e-pawn (via 1...d5 or 1...Nf6), grab the center!
2.d4 is better than 2.Nc3 (unless you know French Two Knights theory like the back of your hand as there is little room for error, and clearly you don't).
After 1.e4 e6 2.d4, if Black plays 2.d5, you have to do something about e4 and only now, after 2...d5, when ...d6 is no longer possible, should you advance it with 3.e5, now that d5 and e6 are occupied by Black pawns.
If Black does not play 2...d5 and does something stupid, like 2...Nf6, do not advance e5. You weaken the light squares. Advance when you must, not when you can. Something to protect the pawn like Nc3, Nd2, etc.

gg @chamo2074

This is the thread to track the match between Team Sicilian and Team Caro-Kann.
@verylate and @little_guinea_pig - Please post your team rosters by Board number for this match, from 1 thru 7.
Here are the board matchups:
- @Ivanjansevanrensburg (French) v. @little_guinea_pig (e5) (e5 wins - French 0, e5 2)
- @ThrillerFan (French) v. @dsmith42 (e5) (level score - French 1, e5 1)
- @verylate (French) v. @Kadenstarr (e5) (French wins - French 2, e5 0)
- @chamo2074 (French) v. @toxic_rabbit (e5)
- @roughraf (French) v. @CastawayWill (e5)
- @DaBabysburner (French) v. @shadowarcher28 (e5)
- @theoof11 (French) v. @autumn_15_8 (e5)
For some reason it won't let me use tables. Anyway, two games per match, one with each color, 1. e4 must be played, and black must play the team's corresponding reply. Time control is 3 days per move.
To the rest of my Team e5 compatriots, I strongly suggest you use the allowed time well. Team French is not only quite strong, but they are generally aggressive players and creative attackers, so playing passively against them is not advisable.
I did not say I was joining this, cancel me from this please

i did notice that d4 is top engine move later on and then my oponent haning a lot of stuff helped it i at that time did not rlly go for the theory otherwise oponent could hv gone for d5 which would hv helped him but doubling pawns was a bad idea then my oponent trading queens was a big boost for me as it made me cool / calm down a lot as i was nto worried about anything big after that and then my oponent went for the bishop but a check solved the issue for me

btw where do you learn theory from

the bigger issue at my level is not larning theory but no one plays theory at 1100-1080 so even if i do know the engine moves its just a fail
Sorry for the belated update, I was at a trade show in Las Vegas to introduce a new product I invented:
https://www.legrand.us/solutions/fiber-optic/infinium-acclaim
Anyway, I've updated the Board 4 results, and removed @CastawayWill from Board 5. Let me know when a substitute is found.
btw my oponent is a 600 pls see the matchmaking
