Hi guys, since i didnt find much in forums anywhere, i am starting new topic.
In all bullet / blitz games in last half year, i play almost exclusively this line, with pretty decent success, about 60-70% winrate as black. In OTB chess, most players will look strangely on me to fall for such baby trap, only to find themselves cooked very soon.
I originally got to play it as black because i was losing too many games against it as white, which lead me to some analysis and conclusion it is actually very hard to win as white, if black knows what to do, despite the blunder myth and stockfish marking it as 'inaccuracy'.
Its really staggering, how many players will dismiss this as a blunder, only to have problem to really beat it in a game. Kids in our chess club (FIDE rated up to 1600) are so afraid of fried liver and i always say them to learn to really play the mainline as black and those, who use it as trap for quick wins fill finish up soon. From my experience almost nobody under 1600 can really play it as white.

I have won with Fried Liver Attack countless times!

It is losing for Black.

———————

The main moves are 9.Bb3 or 9.a3

———————

The winning continuation for White is 9. Bb3 which is also what most engines like to play.

I’m not huge fan of it though!

I play the position slightly different vs. the main winning continuation.

————————

The move I like to play is 9.Qe4 which carries a devastating trappy continuation.

Most Black players fall into it and get completely destroyed!

Some people have told me the way I play let’s Black win or at least draw with best play. I had few people kindly try out my line doing engine vs. engine battles.

The results were fairly mixed, but the line I was mentioning did end up winning.

The only issue was engines didn’t play the moves I liked so the person running the test had to insert my moves several times.

With out inserting the right key moves, The engine played the lines completely different and ended up losing the game left to its own devices.

The move 9.Qe4 seems so natural to me.

I have had countless people check their engines and majority of engines don’t see the move!

Isn’t that very bizarre?
