If you call a tail a leg, how many legs has a dog? Five? No, calling a tail a leg does not make it a leg.
This is a philidor hanham variation. The only reason it was called the lion was for marketing purposes, as the authors did not seemed to like to use the correct name.

I think it's a specific Hanham though....Hanham is a cooler name anyway it has a cute ring to it.

Indeed, but, it's a variation on the hanham variation wich had nót a name before it was the lion. A tail has already a name, that's right, so you can't call it a leg.

I don't have any marketing purposes with this blog post, I like making blog posts. I'm not the inventor of this opening, it's one of my favorite openings.
