Hello guys, Im having some problems to pick one good main option againts the grunfeld on my d4 repertoire, I tried a lot of differents options (like the exchange with Bc4 and Cf3, the russian system, the g3 grunfeld) but I havent found a good one for me yet. These days I've seen a differente way to play the exchange, looks very interesting, but I couldn't find anything about it on internet. This variation that I talking is the 1. d4 Cf6 2. c4 g6 3. Cc3 d5 4. cxd5 Cxd5 Bd2 . If you know this variation, do you think it is a good ideia to use this variation as a main option on my repertoire?

Thank you!!

It is good enough for Anand, and he uses it frequently.

Victor Moskalenko has 5.Bd2 as his weapon against the Grunfeld in his 1.d4 attacking repertoire. I don't have much experience with it myself but I don't see any problem with using this line.

As a Grünfeld player, yes, 5 Bd2 is completely acceptable for a main option against it. Black basically has two setups, with Nb6 or Nxc3 (after which White can demonstrate the main idea of playing the Bishop to d2 and respond Bxc3, opposing the Grünfeld Bishop on g7) so it's also not very theory-heavy.

Bd2 is really solid way for white to try to grind a small positional edge.
