Hey everyone,

How do you think the Halloween Gambit stands against other gambits? It certainly isn't the most common...

I think its pretty good, especially against unprepared opponents. However, if they know some critical moves, you will have a tough time.

I think it works pretty good if the opponent doesn't know about it.

As far as gambits go it isn’t very good. A space advantage really isn’t good enough for a two-pawn loss. If you want to sacrifice two pawns, play the Goring Scotch against the Open.

The sacrifice is not 2 pawns, but a piece. Maybe you had the Danish gambit in mind?

I don't find Halloween gambit too good.

Im for gambit play in general, but giving up a whole piece for one tempo & some space seems like a bridge too far fpr me. That said however, If u choose to play this in blitz, below say 1600-1700/ you ill prob win some games with it. Don't expect to get it on the board often though, as the four knights opening is not very common.
