How do I unlock a Book?

Hi there,

I played the London system opening today which was previously unlocked in my book list. I believe this is one of the White army’s books to unlock as the last book move belongs to the White. So I played the book moves, checking that the computer recognised it as the London system.

Now I’m a bit puzzled because the book hasn’t been unlocked since the end of the game. Note that I played the London system twice this morning. The first time I resigned the game. The second time I lost by checkmate.

Is there any more conditions to unlocking one of the books in the list, other than basically you and your opponent start the game with the right moves? Like not resigning or even winning the game?

Thank you

Petros

You probably did everything correctly.  The Book for the London System seems bugged as many other people (including myself) have not been awarded the Book after playing the moves.  I have also tried alternative move orders but to no avail so far.

Thank you. That’s very helpful.

Thank you I needed this.

I wonder if Black has to play specific moves in a specific order, like 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bf4 or 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 d5 3.Bf4.

And it likely does not consider 2.Bf4 the London.

Might also require moves all the way to a Knight move to d2 as going to c3, depending on Black's line of play, would be a Jobava or a Barry.
