I once played this in an OTB as a surprise weapon against a 1900 FIDE player and I won in just a few moves. I play this sometimes and I think it is WAAAY stronger than people think. Here is how my game went + what the games usually look like.

I personally would not have any problems playing white here, and similar positions are 80% of all games in the Ponziani opening.
